Description

Hydrocodone 5-325 mg is a prescribed medication used in the treatment of back pain, moderate pain, and cough which belongs to the drug class narcotic analgesic combinations. This combination contains an opioid pain reliever, i.e., hydrocodone, and a non-opioid pain reliever, i.e., acetaminophen that acts on the brain or central nervous system to relieve pain and stop or prevent cough. This drug is available as an extended-release medication with different strengths: 10-325 mg, 10-500 mg, 10-650 mg, 10-660 mg, and 5-325 mg. The white capsule with the imprint “IP 109” on one side of the capsule has been identified as Hydrocodone 5-325 mg which is supplied by Amneal Pharmaceuticals. The National Drug Code (NDC) of Hydrocodone 5-325 mg is 53746-0109 and is classified as a Schedule II controlled substance under the Controlled Substance Act (CSA), so there is a risk of abuse and dependency. The initial recommended dose by a health specialist for adults is 1 or 2 capsules every 4 to 6 hours as needed, but the maximum dose is 8 capsules per day.
