Roxicodone is an analgesic medicine and this belongs to the opioid agonist class of drugs. it is used in treating chronic and high-intensity pain. The parent drug or the active ingredient of this pill is oxycodone which is enlisted by the World Health Organisation as an essential medication for moderate to severe pain relief. This Roxicodone pill comes in immediate-release and prolonged or extended-release forms. Extended release is a highly prescribed form as that increases its effecting time for a longer period and hence the relieving span after a single dose. Although it is one of the major prescriptions for moderate to severe pain still it is not advised for universal prescription. First of all, this is prescribed for treating opioid-tolerant patients only. Moreover, lactating mothers and children are out of the Roxicodone prescription population. Medical practitioners strictly advise not to utilize this drug in post-surgery pain-relieving remedies as it may exacerbate the patient’s health condition. Roxicodone comes with some precautions and warnings which are the tendency to make patients physically and psychologically dependent. Low libido has also been observed as a side effect of this drug which is because of less production of sexual hormones.
