Clonazepam medication is known as an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug that is indicated for the treatment of panic attacks and to prevent seizure disorders by calming your brain and nerves, it works. It is meant for short-term treatment only and belongs to a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. This medicine is available only under the supervision of a doctor and can be used in patients resistant to standard treatment. The dosage of Clonazepam is based on the medical condition, age, and response to treatment of the patient, i.e., it will be different for different patients. Clonazepam medicine comes as a tablet and an orally disintegrating tablet that is usually taken one to three times a day with or without food. Though, it may be habit-forming or may cause physical dependence; so do not take a larger dose without talking to your doctor. Clonazepam may interact with certain medications which may lead to serious side effects like body aches, cough, blurred vision, difficulty breathing, dizziness, feeling sad or empty, fever, headache, lack of appetite, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, drowsiness, tiredness, etc. While taking this medication, it is recommended to avoid alcohol; otherwise, very serious interactions can occur.
