Gabapentin 1600 mg is an anticonvulsant drug or antiepileptic drug that is one of the most commonly prescribed drugs in the United States, used to stop or prevent seizures, tremors, and neural problems in adults. It is only moderately addictive because it is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). The drug class of this medicine is Gamma-aminobutyric acid analogs. This drug is available in different strengths of oral tablets and capsules, i.e., 100 mg, 300mg, 400 mg, 600 mg, 800 mg, 1200 mg, and 1600 mg strength. The white oval tablet with “O E” imprint with a deep break line on one side of the tablet. The recommended initial dose for adults is 300 mg orally on day one in the evening. Note that, the dose is usually not more than 1800 mg per day. However, your doctor may increase your dosage (if necessary). Gabapentin 1600 mg is significantly superior to 900 mg in reducing the severity of coldness, diarrhea, and many more. This drug should be taken with the evening meal. Gabapentin 1600 mg may cause vision changes, clumsiness, unsteadiness, dizziness, drowsiness, sleepiness, trouble with thinking, etc.
