Lunesta may cause serious side effects such as anxiety, depression, aggression, memory problems, and more. Stop using Lunesta and call your doctor at once if you have any of these. Use of this medication is usually limited to short treatment periods of 1 to 2 weeks or less. If your insomnia continues for a longer time, talk to your doctor to see if you need other treatment. Take this medication by mouth as your doctor tells you to do, usually just before you get into bed. Do not take it with or right after a high-fat or heavy meal since it may not work as well. The dosage is based on your medical condition, age, liver function, other medications you may be taking, and response to treatment. Drug interactions and warnings include: do not drink alcohol while you are taking Lunesta. It can increase some of the side effects, including drowsiness.
